20170103 bangkok trip day 5

i met up an ex-colleague from bangkok office today. it was really a relaxing day. she brought me to a place which i don’t think i will go.

we met up for lunch at the famous luxury shopping center along sukhumivt road- emquartier – just opposite the popular emporium shopping mall.

the emquartier opened in march 2015. it was very spacous with many designer brands and dozens of restaurants, office, event halls and a cool atrium garden with waterfall.

the design of emquartier has giant glass panels fronting the mall and its sweeping futuristic floors enclosing a cool outside concourse space. there’s also plenty of grass, plants and trees added to each level. 

the mall is split up into three different zones, one of which is actually in a separate building connected by several walkways. the zones are “the glass quartier”, “the helix quartier”, and “the waterfall quartier”.
